Dennis held his first Bridge Vacation in 1974, when he was asked by the Stage Neck Inn in York Harbor, Maine, to organize a get-away weekend for bridge players. He had just opened the Bridge Studio in a Boston suburb (which became the second largest bridge club in the country), and the first Vacation drew players just from there. They had such a good time that they told their friends, and soon bridge players were coming from all over New England.
The number of Bridge Vacations continued to grow until Dennis sold the bridge club to devote full time to them.He took a break from running Bridge Vacations in the early 2000s when he had the opportunity to play professionally for a few years. Now he is back to running Bridge Vacations.
